Job Summary
The Assistant Distribution Manager is responsible for assisting the manager on a value-driven approach to ensure a compliant and secure fulfillment process in a highly regulated market. Using proprietary knowledge and systems at the company, the Assistant Distribution Manager will use highly regulated platforms to support complex supply chains experiencing rapid growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Motivate distribution team by providing encouragement, being a servant leader, and giving constructive feedback.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and development opportunities to Leads, and Specialists.
- Create manifests and ensure that they mirror shipments and documents and that all protocols and checks are being followed.
- Complete BioTrack or applicable track and trace system for inventory transfers.
- Pair corresponding manifests and invoices together and leave in designated area for drivers.
- Send manifests and invoices via email to dispensary contacts the night before delivery.
- Mark orders as shipped on the morning of delivery.
- Revise invoices if needed upon delivery completion to reflect any rejections or discrepancies and notify dispensary contacts via email.
- Mark deliveries as complete in tracking system after delivery has been completed and verify that the invoice matches delivered items.
- Track and trace daily routes via communication with drivers and GPS tracking.
- Schedule daily routes and rosters.
- Build partials orders for designated dispensaries in LeafTrade (or inventory/POS system) and physically set up for Packaging department.
- Track and process all product returns and if applicable, fix issues and prep to send product back with next delivery.
- Keep up to date with inventory-sales data.
- Manage timekeeping and payroll related items for distribution employees.
- File all completed manifests and transfers both electronically and physically and keep records for five (5) years.
- Provide support to Packaging and Sales departments as needed.
- Ensure delivery vehicles are stocked with all necessary supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Previous experience in supply chain, warehouse, receiving, and/or inventory.
- 2+ years’ experience as a people manager/supervisor.
- Able to follow detailed instruction and capable of performing repetitive tasks.
- Must have a positive attitude and work well with others in a team environment.
- Effective time management and multitasking skills.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to safely climb, squat, bend, twist, kneel and stand for at least 8 hours per day, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be 21 years of age or older and able to successfully register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.
- Must comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.
Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in a distribution warehouse (food, beverage, CPG, etc.) preferred.

Pallet jack proficiency preferred.

Forklift proficiency preferred.
Physical and Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. Able to stand for 90% of the time. Comfortable with heights, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights, filters, trellis netting and ceiling fans up to 25ft. Comfortable working atop and traversing scaffolding, when required. Comfortable with changing environment temperatures and humidity. Exposure to pollen, dust, dander, and other nature elements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. Working Environment
Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and the risk of electrical shock.
