Job Summary
The Distribution Lead assists the Distribution Manager in daily operations, ensuring efficient and compliant order processing, delivery scheduling, and documentation. This role provides hands-on supervision to distribution staff and acts as the point of contact when the manager is unavailable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead daily team operations, delegating tasks and monitoring completion.
- Prepare and verify manifests, invoices, and labels using STS, Treefer, and Leaftrade.
- Ensure order accuracy, track deliveries, and maintain communication with dispensary contacts.
- Support route planning and vehicle scheduling; verify that vehicles are stocked and maintained.
- Train and mentor drivers and distribution staff on company procedures and compliance standards.
- Assist with audits, documentation, and resolving discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory movements and collaborate with other departments to ensure order fulfillment.
- Escalate operational or system issues to the Distribution Manager.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant workspace.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in distribution, logistics, warehouse, or related field.
- 1+ year of team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in basic computer systems; experience with STS, Treefer, or Leaftrade a plus.
- Must be 21+ and able to register with the state cannabis commission.
- Able to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in regulated environments (cannabis, food, beverage, or CPG).
- Forklift or pallet jack certification a plus.
Physical and Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 25 lb. Able to stand for 90% of the time. Comfortable with heights, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights, filters, trellis netting and ceiling fans up to 25ft. Comfortable working atop and traversing scaffolding, when required. Comfortable with changing environment temperatures and humidity. Exposure to pollen, dust, dander, and other nature elements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. Working Environment
Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
