Position Summary

Verano is experiencing exponential growth, and we are looking to add to our Finance team. The Finance Manager – Business Operations is responsible for oversight of cost functions, inventory, and FP&A support. The position will coordinate cross-functional business activities from the nationwide/corporate finance function. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Leadership

  • Provide thought leadership and insight on achievement of plant key performance metrics with a strong focus on cost reduction and improved operating efficiencies.
  • Build partnerships with key business partners to create transparency and drive operational excellence.
  • Drive adhesion to company policies and procedures in operations.
  • Advise and influence business partners to identify lowest cost, highest growth opportunities highlighted by financial analysis.
  • Provide production support in complex environments.

 

Analytical

  • Possess a strong understanding of inventory with the ability to analyze the process from raw materials to relief of finished goods.
  • Identify financial improvement opportunities and collaborate with operations on execution of opportunities.
  • Manage various cost streams such as purchase orders and inventory across national production sites. 
  • Plan, collect, and analyze data to drive costing initiatives.
  • Track and analyze labor and headcount associated facilities.
  • Analyze product profitability and overhead for the product mix. 
  • Analyze inventory movements in terms of cost per quantity of units.
  • Analyze purchasing, procurement, and consumption rates.
  • Perform monthly analysis on aged, excess, and obsolescence inventory.
  • Deploy new processes and procedures to improve efficiencies across the organization.
  • Create, manage, monitor, and deliver KPIs and recommendations nationwide.
  • Develop and implement financial visibility into purchasing, procedure, and logistics.
  • Creatively and continuously search for opportunities for operational efficiency and simplification. 
  • Ensure financial control processes are implemented.
  • Effectively optimize our process and move from an existing as-is manual process to a more streamlined systemic process leveraging SAP.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 5+ years of related experience in financial operations required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience required.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Strong ability to influence appropriate operational counterparts.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to company locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in CPG or manufacturing (inventory experience).
  • CPA and/or MBA designation preferred.
  • SAP platform experience preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
