Job Summary

The Manager, People Business Partner is the point person for any HR-related topics and is responsible for facilitating critical generalist HR functions—such as onboarding, maintenance of employee records, employee relations, benefits, training and development coordination, HRIS, and compliance—within the company’s cultivation facility in the state. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment and interview process.
  • Conduct employee onboarding.
    • Submit new and renewal badge applications to the State. 
  • Guide employees with new benefits enrollment
  • Conduct investigations as assigned
  • Visit and support personnel at locations across the region
  • Provide a positive and professional HR experience to field employees and management.
  • Process paperwork for new hires, terminations, and other status changes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on FMLA and COBRA guidelines and requirements.
  • Review employee records for FMLA eligibility.
  • Respond to requests in a timely manner.
  • Draft eligibility and ineligibility letters.
  • Serve as point of contact for locations with any questions on time clocks, payroll, or benefits.
  • Assist the Regional HR Director and VP with research and special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Travel required dependent on business need throughout region

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of human resources experience required.
  • Human Resource Information System (HRIS) experience required.
  • General knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, Workers Compensation, DOL, and other federal and state laws and regulations
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or relevant field preferred.
  • 6 years of human resources experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Labor relations experience with CBA interpretation and grievance/arbitration process preferred. 
  • HIPPA experience preferred.
  • HRCI and/or SHRM certification is a plus.
