Job Summary

Verano is experiencing exponential growth, and we are looking to add to our Finance team. The Accounts Receivable (AR) Cash Application Analyst is responsible for accurately and efficiently applying incoming customer payments to outstanding invoices and accounts in the financial system. This role ensures the integrity of customer account balances, supports timely and accurate financial reporting, and contributes to strong customer and internal stakeholder relationships.

The analyst serves as a key link between customers, the AR team, banking partners, and internal departments to ensure payments are applied correctly and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cash Application Processing
    - Post and apply daily customer payments of various types to corresponding invoices.
    - Reconcile and validate payment details against remittance information received 
    - Manage unapplied and unidentified cash items, ensuring timely resolution.
    - Research and resolve payment discrepancies such as short pays, overpayments, or deductions.
    - Ensure payment batches balance daily and match bank deposit totals.
    - Process credits minimally on a weekly basis
  • Customer and Internal Collaboration
    - Communicate with customers regarding missing remittance details or misapplied cash.
    - Partner with internal and external partners for account reconciliations.
    - Work with treasury or accounting teams to ensure timely posting and reconciliation of bank transactions.
  • Process Improvement and Controls
    - Identify and recommend process improvements for cash application workflows.
    - Support automation initiatives 
    - Maintain compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.
    - Participate in month-end and year-end closing activities.
    - Any other duties or projects as assigned by leadership
  • Reporting and Documentation
    - Maintain detailed records and audit trails.
    - Generate reports on unapplied cash, payment trends, and account status.
    - Support audit requests with required documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in accounting, finance, or relevant major preferred.
  • Microsoft Office, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced preferred), experience required
  • Experience with large transaction volumes and multiple payment sources Proficiency in using accounting software and financial systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of accounting or finance experience preferred
  • Specific industry experience is a plus
  • Financial/Accounting software such as SAP experience is a plus

What We Offer

Verano Base Pay Range: $48,000 - $58,000

Actual pay is based on experience, qualifications, and location of the role. Roles may be eligible for annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
