Manager, Finance - Business Intelligence

The Manager, Finance - Business Intelligence is a hands-on, individual-contributor role responsible for building and maintaining the data models, dashboards, and reporting that drive revenue and cost insights, forecasting, and capital investment analysis. This role owns analytics development in BigQuery and Power BI, supports monthly reporting and data reconciliation, and delivers ad hoc analysis for cross-functional teams to enhance regional performance and inform company-wide initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop advanced business insights and analytical reports, ensuring data accuracy and relevance for strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain standardized data models and reporting practices across regions, partnering with cross-functional teams to establish consistent, high-impact insights.
- Identify, monitor, and deliver KPIs, providing actionable recommendations that align with regional and corporate goals and enhance business performance.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of profit and loss data on entity, state, and regional levels, utilizing insights to inform business strategy and optimize profitability.
- Prioritize the accuracy and completeness of data used in business insights, aligning with corporate policies and quality standards.
- Develop and refine internal protocols and best practices for data governance, reporting standards, and PowerBI based analytics.
- Build and nurture relationships with key business partners, leveraging insights to drive transparency, operational excellence, and strategic alignment.
- Utilize data analysis to advise and influence decision-makers on high-value, low-cost growth opportunities and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes by transitioning from manual reporting to automated, data-driven insights using PowerBI and other business intelligence tools.
- Prepare ongoing analytical reports and variance analyses to inform stakeholders on performance trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Build and maintain data models and transformation logic (e.g., SQL and dbt on BigQuery), including data quality tests, version control, and documentation, to support reliable downstream reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in accounting, finance, economics, statistics, math, or relevant experience
- 5+ years of related experience in financial operations, data analysis, business intelligence, and/or data science
- Microsoft Office, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced), experience required
- Familiarity with financial reporting and P&L concepts; working knowledge of U.S. GAAP preferred
- Strong ability to influence appropriate operational counterparts to timely closeout duties
- 5+ years in an analyst capacity, data modeling, building dashboards, creating repeatable processes for measuring KPIs, and ad hoc analysis
- Deep understanding of data flows of ingestion from multiple sources, transformations, normalization, and final output
- Proficiency in SQL for data modeling, transformation, and analysis required
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience building clean, robust, and easy to follow data models.
- Data modeling and pipeline development using Python and dbt
- Experience with GCP, including but not limited to BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Dataplex, and dbt
- Experience with A/B testing, developing easily understood statistical methods for non technical users
- Ability to build, deploy, and maintain professional dashboards
Nice to have:
- Direct experience in CPG or manufacturing (inventory experience) is a plus
- Experience with retail/POS and analytics source systems (e.g., Sweed, Leaftrade, Springbig, BDSA) is a plus
- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD, and code deployment for analytics and data pipeline workflows
- Statistical modeling for Retail, CPG, or economic analysis
What We Offer:
Verano Base Pay Range $125,000 - 140,000 + Bonus
Actual pay is based on experience, qualifications, and location of the role. Roles may be eligible for annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
