Job Summary
This position will serve as the primary architect for the Verano System Landscape. Design, management, support, evaluation and enhancement of the landscape, and the tools used to manage it, are owned by this team member.
This is a hybrid role requiring ~3 days on-site at Verano HQ (224 W. Hill St, Chicago IL 60610). Verano requires all applicants to have permanent United States work authorization (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and promote enterprise architecture standards and strategies. Manage technical architecture analysis, design, build, test and deploy for Development, Execution, Operations & Infrastructure Architecture.
- Understand Verano’s system landscape today and recommend tools that will improve usability and efficiency.
- Manage on shore developer as well as the offshore Basis and Development Team.
- Support integrations between SAP S4/HANA, SAC, Ariba, Success Factors as well as non-SAP ancillary systems.
- Understand SAP’s product strategy and roadmap, including positioning of S/4 HANA and enable complementary or emerging technologies & tools.
- Help Solution Architects solve problems using technical knowledge of Verano’s landscape and available tools.
- Advise on technical approach for all systems integrating with SAP, whilst also conducting due diligence and business assessments.
- Provide technical expertise and advice on SAP architecture and make recommendations to improve performance.
- Make recommendations on strategic direction and roadmap for the use and implementation of SAP applications, as well as integrated third-party systems.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years experience in a Technical Architect role, S4/HANA experience required.
- 3+ years of team leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to program in ABAP/Fiori UI5, CPI and use BTP toolset.
- Functional knowledge of SD, MM, FI, CO, PP modules preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to use BTP tools to achieve business objectives; value-driven process approach.
- Extensive understanding of SAP S/4 HANA, SAP NetWeaver architecture and related SAP products, as well as interfaces with other related systems and underlying database technologies.
- Experience in managing a complex SAP landscape/environment that supports core business functions in accordance with SAP and industry best practices.
- Experience with multiple full life cycle SAP implementations, upgrades and support projects.
- Understanding of SAP S/4 HANA Private Cloud, SAP S/4 HANA Enterprise Cloud (ECS/HEC) Services and HANA Cloud Platform (HCP).
- Strong strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and strict adherence to protecting confidential information.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Organized and detail oriented with ability to execute change management.
- Effective consultative and influencing approach, with proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
