Job Summary

The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for all corporate tax accounting tasks—including income tax provision, deferred tax balances, and tax account reconciliations as well as assisting in federal and state tax filings. This role will also assist in audit support and research and planning.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review quarterly tax provisions, including reports to management and the external auditor, account reconciliations, tax basis balance sheet support, and execution of internal controls.
  • Assist in managing the preparation and filing of the US federal, state, and local income tax returns, estimated tax payments, and extensions.
  • Supports company tax audits, responses to tax notices, and timely resolution of other tax controversy matters.
  • Monitor legislative and organization developments.
  • Perform technical research to address complex tax issues, including planning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other members within the Finance organization to align data flow requirements and to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist with the integration and implementation of tax technology tools and data management solutions within the tax function.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or finance.
  • 3+ years of tax accounting experience with a publicly traded company or public accounting firm.
  • Must have strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with tax complexities in the cannabis industry is a plus.
  • CPA or other recognized certifications are a plus.
  • Master’s in taxation is a plus.
