Job Summary

The Senior Manager, SAP Support & Operations, is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the configuration, security, and operational management of the SAP landscape. This role combines functional depth in SAP S/4HANA with leadership across operations, compliance, and vendor management. The incumbent will execute SAP configuration, lead ITGC/SOX control activities, and drive performance and governance across business- and IT-led projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot SAP S/4HANA modules (SD, MM, PP, FI/CO, PM) to meet evolving business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices Oversee SAP operations as a Center of Excellence (CoE)—establish KPIs, track performance, and manage issue resolution through tools like ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Prepare monthly performance and risk reports for IT and business leadership, highlighting stability, incidents, and improvement actions.

  • Manage SAP Security operations, including role design, provisioning, and access control.
  • Perform monthly ITGC/SOX reviews, including firefighter activity, access termination, SoD analysis, and change management validation.
  • Maintain audit documentation and collaborate with Compliance and Audit teams to ensure readiness and closure of findings.
  • Coordinate business-led initiatives (process improvements, DR testing, audit support) and IT-driven projects (upgrades, patches, infrastructure refreshes).
  • Partner with PMO, infrastructure, and application teams to align schedules, testing, and change management.
  • Lead and mentor a hybrid team of SAP analysts, security administrators, and offshore consultants.
  • Manage vendors and managed service providers, ensuring SLA compliance, delivery quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor SAP system performance and reliability and drive optimization or automation initiatives where possible.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with SOX, FDA, GDPR, and corporate security policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of SAP experience with strong hands-on configuration and operational background.
  • Proven expertise in SAP Security and execution of ITGC/SOX controls.
  • Experience managing SAP vendors, offshore teams, and multi-module environments.
  • Skilled in performance reporting and issue tracking (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar).
  • Familiar with SAP integrations (Ariba, SuccessFactors, SAC).
  • PMP, SAP Activate, or ITIL certification preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing, CPG, or retail industries preferred.
