Job Summary

The Manager of Production Planning is responsible for supporting the CPG Facility Production Manager on all production planning and MRP initiatives. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner with experience in the cannabis industry and proficiency in SAP ERP systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in coordinating production schedules, managing SAP, and optimizing manufacturing workflows to meet demand while adhering to strict regulatory compliance standards. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and available materials.
  • Utilize SAP ERP to track production orders, manage materials, and monitor inventory accuracy.
  • Analyze capacity and resource availability to identify bottlenecks within SAP and propose solutions.
  • Collaborate with procurement while piloting MRP within SAP to ensure timely sourcing of raw materials and packaging components.
  • Assist with S2S/SAP reconciliation, documentation, and audit readiness in accordance with cGMP and the DCP regulatory guidelines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning and operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for reviewing WIP inventory, vault inventory, and production pars when creating schedules.
  • Responsible for creating the daily production and packaging schedules to maintain par levels.
  • Responsible for collaborating with the Production Manager to ensure managers complete the production schedule actuals by the end of each shift.
  • Build and maintain faculties’ bill of materials and methods of manufacturing to ensure correct component and labor usage with current packaging and practices
  • Collaborate and act as liaison for system transactions to other functional departments to ensure stakeholders understand facility operations
  • Any additional initiatives as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a high-volume production facility or within a cannabis cultivation facility.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ERP (S/4HANA preferred), including production planning and inventory modules.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis industry operations, including compliance, cultivation, extraction, and packaging.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Production Scheduling and Planning experience.
  • Must possess a high level of critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Must operate with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check.
  • Must be able to register with the state’s cannabis commission or appointed regulatory department as an agent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years of cannabis experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with state cannabis compliance systems (e.g., Metrc, BioTrack).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with building documentation for processes and systems preferred.

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 25 lb. Able to stand for 90% of the time. Comfortable with heights, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights, filters, trellis netting and ceiling fans up to 25ft. Comfortable working atop and traversing scaffolding, when required. Comfortable with changing environment temperatures and humidity. Exposure to pollen, dust, dander, and other nature elements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. Working Environment

Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
