Certification Pharmacist

Job Summary
The Certification Pharmacist will become affiliated with the PA Department of Health Medical Marijuana program and be responsible for look up each patient that visits in the PA DOH portal, view the 6-page medical marijuana certification uploaded by the certifying practitioner, and verify that each patient is legally allowed to purchase medical marijuana. In addition, each certification will be viewed to ensure that any limitations or restrictions placed on the patient by the certifying physician are followed by the patient. Each certification check finalizes in saving the verification event in the PA DOH portal under a unique user ID. This is an essential part of the dispensary functionality within State DOH compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Check patient certifications via the online portal
- Review patient’s physician recommendations and dispense medical cannabis medication
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the state of licensure.
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, or PharmD. (Licensed without restrictions)
- 2 -5 years’ experience
- Knowledge of compliance laws and regulations within the industry and state of Connecticut.
- Adhere by all HIPPA and PHI requirements
- Ability to work effectively with employees, management, patients, governmental agencies, community members and the general public
Preferred Qualifications
- Retail experience is a plus (Experience at a Walgreens, CVS, etc. is a plus)
- Strong desire to learn about the properties of cannabis.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite. (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Flexible work schedule (will need evenings and weekend availability)
Physical and Mental Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 10lbs. Able to stand up to 90% of the time. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include hearing in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
